At the beginning of this process, an initial consultation meeting with key school staff is held to understand and agree upon the school’s support needs, with expert advice given as to how EP involvement can be most effectively used in your setting. Flexible support can be tailored to the school’s needs, with an EP present on-site to support in consultations, direct work with children, support with policy development, etc.

Concise Support Package (Record of Involvement)

Through the concise support package, we have direct involvement with the child, parents and schools to provide a summary of a child’s strengths and needs. We then facilitate a solutions-focused consultation between key adults around the child in order to agree upon next steps for support, strengthened by the insight of an EP. Throughout this process, our aim is to empower adults around the child to collaborate, synthesising their detailed knowledge of the child to develop effective next steps for support.

Cost: £1000 per child

Including:

  • Observation of child in class and direct work to gather child’s views
  • Home/school consultation to co-construct next steps for support
  • Concise summary report, including a record of home/school consultation, and agreed actions for support.

Pre- EHC (Needs Assessment or Review) Support Package

Through the EHC Support package, we work directly with the child, parents and school to understand and identify the child’s core needs (eliciting these through bespoke approaches to assessment). We use a collaborative, and solutions focussed approach to consult with key stakeholders, developing an in-depth understanding of the child’s current context. From this, we develop a comprehensive profile of the child’s needs, and detailed, evidence-based recommendations for their ongoing support.

Cost: £1750 per child

Including:

  • Support of Educational Psychologist and Assistant Educational Psychologist throughout the process.
  • Individual consultations with parents and key school staff.
  • Observations of child in class and direct assessment work in a familiar environment.
  • Synthesis of relevant documentation in collaboration with relevant school staff (usually SENCo).
  • Debrief meeting with relevant staff following information gathering.
  • Composition of a detailed EHC-style report, including a full record of the child’s needs and bespoke recommendations for ongoing support
