Brimstone Psychology provides flexible, responsive Educational Psychology support to schools, colleges and education settings. 

Our Educational Psychologists work collaboratively with children and young people, families and education professionals to develop a psychological understanding of strengths, needs and the factors influencing engagement, learning and wellbeing. 

Schools can commission individual assessments, flexible Educational Psychology time or one of our annual Partnership Packages. 

EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY ASSESSMENTS 

£825 per child or young person

A focused Educational Psychology assessment designed to provide schools with a clear psychological understanding of a child or young person’s strengths and needs, together with practical recommendations for support.

Assessment is tailored to the referral question and may include:

• Review of relevant background information

• Consultation with school staff

• Parent or carer consultation where appropriate

• Direct work with the child or young person

• Observation where appropriate

• Psychological assessment appropriate to the presenting needs

• Psychological formulation

• Feedback to the setting

• A concise written Record of Involvement

• Evidence informed recommendations and agreed next steps

This package is particularly suited to schools seeking psychological advice as part of the graduated response to SEND.

For children and young people whose needs require broader assessment, additional consultation or more detailed psychological formulation.

This may include additional direct assessment, consideration of multiple areas of need, extended consultation and more detailed recommendations for intervention and provision.

A detailed written Educational Psychology report is provided.

A comprehensive assessment for children and young people with complex or longstanding needs.

This package is appropriate where detailed psychological assessment and advice are required to inform statutory assessment, an Education, Health and Care Plan, complex provision planning or significant decisions regarding education.

It may include:

• Detailed review of existing evidence

• Parent or carer consultation

• School consultation

• Consultation with other professionals where appropriate

• Direct work and psychological assessment

• Observation where appropriate

• Standardised and/or dynamic assessment according to need

• Detailed psychological formulation

• Identification of strengths and areas of need

• Long and short term outcomes where required

• Detailed, specified and quantified recommendations for provision

• Comprehensive Educational Psychology report

FLEXIBLE EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY SUPPORT

Schools can commission Educational Psychology time where they require greater flexibility.

This may include complex case consultation, complex assessment and formulation, multi professional consultation, supervision, specialist SEND work and professional oversight.

SYSTEMIC AND STRATEGIC EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY

Lead Educational Psychologist consultancy is designed for work at whole school, college, Trust or organisational level.

Provides sustained Educational Psychology capacity across the academic year and greater flexibility for assessment, consultation and preventative work.

Designed for larger schools, colleges, specialist settings and organisations requiring substantial and consistent Educational Psychology capacity. 

Saving £3,600 against the ad hoc day rate. 

Bespoke packages are available for Multi Academy Trusts, colleges, specialist settings, Local Authorities and groups of schools wishing to commission larger volumes of Educational Psychology time.

Where additional Educational Psychology work is requested outside the scope of an agreed assessment or package:

Additional work may include extended professional consultation, additional meetings, substantial additional document review, supplementary written advice or other professional activity requested by the commissioner. 

Any additional costs will be agreed before the work is undertaken.

We believe Educational Psychology is most effective when it moves beyond assessment alone. 

Our psychologists work alongside education professionals to understand what may be contributing to a child or young person’s current experiences and identify what can be changed within their environment, relationships and support.
